in some of these older dirt bikes they have two plugs, but only one coil and wire. The second plug is a spare in case the first plug fouls while slogging in the middle of nowhere. Only the actively firing plug will foul, so you simply switch over the ignition wire are good to go again. With a two-stroke and/or poor gas or poorly adjusted carb and the relatively weak ignitions on these bikes a fouled plug is both fairly likely to occur and puts a serious crimp in your fun/ability to get home. It saves having to cary a tool kit and spare plug with you.
